Feed the plants. Some fruit and berry crops need top dressing during the flowering period:

• apple and pear trees – as soon as the buds open: 3 tbsp. spoons of superphosphate and 2 tbsp. spoons of urea per 10 water, 4 – 5 buckets per tree;
• plum – as soon as the buds open: 2 tbsp. spoons of urea and 2 tbsp. spoons of potassium sulfate per 10 liters of water, 3 buckets per tree;
• cherry – as soon as it blooms: 5 liters of mullein (diluted 1:10) and 10 glasses of ash per 50 liters of water, 1 bucket per tree;
• gooseberries – as soon as they bloom: 1 tbsp. a spoonful of potassium sulfate per 10 liters of water, 3 buckets per bush.

Protect your garden from frost. No matter how abundantly the trees and shrubs bloom, they may not produce a crop if there are frosts at this time. Protecting large plants is not easy – you cannot cover them with a non-woven fabric. But there are other ways to protect:

• sprinkling – in the evening, if the temperature drops to 0 ° C, trees and shrubs should be sprayed with water through a fine spray – water protects against frost down to -5 ° C;
• smoke – as soon as the temperature starts to drop to critical values, heaps of leaves, grass or straw should be lit in the garden – smoke also protects plants from low frosts (1).

Mulch strawberries. In the aisle, you need to throw humus – this is both additional top dressing for the berry planter and protection from drying out of the soil.

This agricultural technique should become the main one in the garden – mulch allows you to retain moisture in the soil, reduces temperature changes, inhibits weeds and pathogenic fungi. You can mulch the beds with humus, compost, straw, rotted sawdust or grass. The layer of mulch should be 3 – 4 cm (3).
