Complementary approaches to frigidity

A multitude of herbs and aphrodisiacs exist in nature, and have been used for centuries to boost libido and pleasure. It is impossible to make an exhaustive list12, but here we list those that have been the subject of convincing clinical studies.

ArginMax (ginseng, ginkgo, damiana, L-arginine…)

גינגקאָ

Supplement based on ginseng (30%), ginkgo biloba, damiana leaves (Turnera diffusa), L-arginine, vitamins and trace elements. A study carried out in 200115 tested the effectiveness of this supplement, called אַרגינמאַקס, on the sexual function of 77 women, for 4 weeks. According to the authors, three-quarters of the women who benefited from the supplement would have noted an improvement in their sexual satisfaction, including desire, vaginal dryness and sensations (orgasms, pleasure). In 2006, the same team conducted a second clinical trial16 in 108 postmenopausal women, giving the same encouraging results.

גינקגאָ. Ginkgo biloba extract has beneficial effects on blood circulation and muscle relaxation, and therefore indirectly on sexual pleasure. A study conducted in 200813 in around 8 women complaining of sexual dissatisfaction evaluated the short and long term (300 weeks) effectiveness of the administration of a daily dose of XNUMX mg of ginkgo biloba extract.

The results show that the long treatment with ginkgo only improves libido and sexual satisfaction, compared to placebo, when combined with sex therapy. This study therefore confirms the interest of sex therapy, alone or with other treatments, to improve orgasmic function.

א לערנען14 older (1998), conducted among 63 women, had shown the effectiveness of ginkgo to treat sexual dysfunction induced by taking antidepressants.
