Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law
Once upon a time there lived in a three-room apartment a woman with her son, who was raised alone. Years passed, Eugene grew up and brought his young wife Victoria into the house. After some time, they had a daughter, then a son. In a word, the most ordinary family, of which the majority.
Eugene’s mother immediately disliked the young daughter-in-law as soon as she stepped over the threshold of their apartment. Both women possessed an imperious, uncompromising character, each bent her own line, and each wanted to be the main one in the house. So scandals in this family happened regularly.
The swearing, obscenities and insults coming from their apartment were heard by the entire entrance. The young family temporarily moved to the suburbs where Victoria’s mother lived, but the work went wrong there, so they had to return.
The financial issue left much to be desired – the newlyweds could not rent a separate house, not to mention buying their own apartment …
Parting gift
The last scandal turned out to be so stormy that Eugene, being very restrained and calm, took the side of his wife. At the family council, they decided: in spite of everything, the young should live separately.
You can get into small debts, but rent a separate house, which will once and for all solve the conflict between the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law. The scandal happened at the end of summer, when women salted mushrooms for the winter, which they loved very much. But the case remained unfinished, as the angry women fled from the kitchen screaming.
The next day, collecting things for the move, the daughter-in-law came up with a “brilliant” idea: to give the precious mother-in-law a “farewell gift”.
While the household, including her mother-in-law, were at work, Vika went to the nearest forest park. There she picked up toadstools and rolled them into a jar with the rest of the mushrooms. Putting the “gift” in a row with the others, she broke into a smile, hoping to get her mother-in-law’s apartment in the near future.

Having collected their things, the young family safely departed for a rented apartment. About a month later, Victoria and her children went to stay in a suburban village with their mother, who suddenly fell ill. Eugene also decided to visit his mother – past grievances have cooled down a little.
The woman welcomed her son warmly. She fed her with her signature pizza and gave me a small can of salted mushrooms. Meanwhile, Victoria’s mother died, and the girl called her husband to urgently come to help with the funeral. The mother-in-law answered the phone. It was she who told Vika that that night Yevgeny died of mushroom poisoning …
How can we not recall the famous “boomerang effect”? Heaven punished Victoria for her villainous act. She simultaneously lost two people close to her – her mother and her beloved husband. She left her own children without a father and became a widow at the age of 25.
And the mother-in-law, whom she hated with all her heart, is still alive. No wonder folk wisdom says: “Don’t dig another hole …”. That’s the whole moral of this story.
