56 חדשים צו באַקומען שוואַנגער

I stopped the pill when I was 20 years old. It was then that I realized that I had cycles of about 60 days. Despite an initial treatment to remedy this, I was still not pregnant a year later. We then begin the famous “obstacle course”:

– request for support by the security (the treatments are horribly expensive);

– hysterography (examination of the tubes) not revealing anything abnormal;

– blood tests and various examinations for me, spermograms for my husband – whom I thank in passing for his courage and patience: not easy to donate his sperm at 8 am in an impersonal laboratory room without even curtains on the windows !

We then started artificial inseminations …

After checking the condition of the uterus and green light from the gynecologist, it’s time to go! Collection of the husband’s sperm at the lab at 7:30 am, cleaning of the sperm so that only “the best of the best” remain, return to the gynecologist with the test tube stuck in the bra to prevent temperature variations, injection of the sperm, rest 30 minutes… And the worst is yet to come! Fifteen days of waiting to see if it worked.

IVF and two beautiful babies

Each time, it’s the same slap. After four inseminations, my butt looks like Gruyere. I will finally see another specialist. And there, I collapsed … Four years of hardship for nothing! Laparoscopy reveals that my tubes are blocked and that IVF should be used. Back to square one: exams, paperwork, blood tests, injections…. I gave birth in June to Théo and Jérémy, after a dream twin pregnancy. They are now 20 months old and we have already made an appointment with the same specialist to get the little sisters going. Don’t lose heart! It’s long, it’s trying, it’s painful, but the result is really worth it.
