Experts have discovered pesticides in several brands of tea. In particular, Lipton Heart of Ceylon contains residual traces of the pesticide cypermethrin. True, experts say that such an amount of the substance will not harm health “with the usual consumption of tea.” In tea אַקבאַ, Beta tea “Gold grade” и TESS also found a pesticide, and it is prohibited for use in our country. But also in small quantities. And here Riston Vintage Blend и “Almanac” contain a “cocktail” of four types of pesticides at once, including those banned in Russia.
“The usual consumption of tea will not lead to an excess of the permissible daily dose of pesticides, the residues of which have been determined,” the experts repeat.
But only two brands did without pesticides: Beta Tea «Opa» и מייַסטער.
In addition, some brands mislead their customers. For example, Lipton Heart of Ceylon is declared as large-leaved, but in fact, the tea leaves are medium in size, not even enough, there are many petioles and plates in the tea, which reduces the quality of the drink. Champion, on the contrary, is declared as a medium leaf, but in fact it is large. And tea “Strong Traditions” is designated as the highest grade, in fact – the second.
“The tea infusion is not bright enough, the taste and aroma are inharmonious, the aroma is not pronounced enough, the taste is weak; a coarse tea leaf, not even enough, with a large number of petioles and little things, ”experts say about it extremely unflattering.
And the good news: Akbar, Riston, Lipton and Almanac have shown the best antioxidant properties. The tea of these brands has the highest content of tannins, thanks to which the drink can boast of antioxidant properties. But if we also compare the price, then the highest it is at Riston, and comparatively low is at the “Almanac”.
