If food during pregnancy is particularly monitored (especially in the context of disease transmission, toxoplasmosis type), that of women during the period just after childbirth – whether breastfeeding or not – should be just as much. …

To favor on your plate? Fruits and / or vegetables (at least 5 per day), milk and dairy products (3 per day), cereal products, potatoes and pulses (at each meal, according to appetite and ideally complete ) or proteins such as meat, fish, fish products and eggs (1 to 2 servings per day – in quantity less than that of the accompaniment, composed of vegetables and starch).

To limit? Added fats, just like that of sweet products and salt (use, moreover, iodized salt; the transfer of iodine from breast milk to the infant being of the order of 50 µg / d;).

Boosted hydration

Water ad libitum ! The one and only drink essential to the body, it is fundamental for young mothers, especially those who are breastfeeding (and whose consumption, according to EFSA *, should be equivalent to 2,3L of water / day, i.e. 700mL of more than the 1,7L / day usually recommended daily, in normal times). It must be said that women who breast-feed their children produce no less than 750mL of milk produced per day, composed of about 87% water …

To aim for? A weakly mineralized water, like Mont Roucous natural mineral water, offered in a 1L format, very practical! A capacity adapted to the daily life of parents: solid, ergonomic, easy to take in your bag… or in the hand.
